When I found the sculpted honey-combed fabric for the base of this mask, I knew I was going to have a good time working with it's texture. For this piece I did a small bit of lattice work with the crimson and gold ribbons, by threading them over and under each other. Additionaly I included a burgundy and gold gimp for trim, and picked up the burgundy overall by utlizing a thicker grosgrain ribbon with similar color. Again, this mask is lined with felt on the inside to absorb any sweat from the person wearing it. Unfortunately the photograph doesn't show the rich honey color of the plush fabric as well as I would have liked.
