Phoebe
Oils on Board. 24" x 36" Work in Progress
I wasn inspired by textured paper that I ran across in an art store near work for this particular painting. It made me want to try a mixed media piece, that used the paper as both a texture and a cloth like element. Thus was Phoebe brouth into creation. Phoebe is shown here in her earliest form, a sketch on gessoed board. She will have a warm light radiating from her, with similar skin coloration. The arc at her head will be turned into a sun-like crown. At the time I have not yet decided how that paper will be applied, and to which areas. Stay tuned for updates to this unusually larger sized work.
