For this mask, I felt compelled to combine multiple sources of rich burgundy textiles that I had found in Downtown L.A. The base fabric is a deep wine color with a superbly soft texture. The Grosgrain ribbon ties matched nicely (though it is difficult to tell with the lighting of this shot). Additionally I included a burgundy and gold gimp for trim, and added a gilded red rose with leaves to play against the deep wine colors. This mask is lined with a deep red colored felt to to absorb any sweat from the person wearing it. The owner of this mask was an attendee of my Maquerade wedding, and was gracious enough to bring the mask in to be photographed.
