This piece is unusual for me as I used my husband for a model. And no, he doesn't look like this. I chose to completely rework the background of this image. Initally I had started with olive streaked tones, then decided that a distressed brown and ochre background was mor appropriate. Additionally the face has several layers of paint to accentuate facial shapes and the red streak of color. The hair and garments have also had continued attention, more contrast will be added to the hair, with the rest of the clothing to be filled in. Below I have included a closeup of an older picture for Workhorse, so that the viewer may see the progress of the painting.
